The Higher Professional Technical Course in Viticulture and Enology trains professionals who, independently or as part of a team, perform functions in the area of viticulture, oenology and in areas related to the wine sector, knowing and controlling the processes of transforming grapes and making wine, as well as programming and applying analysis techniques to grapes, musts, wines and derived products. Develop field work leading to the installation and monitoring of the development of the vineyard; monitor the entire grape maturation and harvest process; carry out and monitor winemaking operations, safeguarding analytical control of products; implement food safety, environmental protection and occupational safety, hygiene and health standards; define and characterize a wine list; plan and organize events related to the theme of wine and manage your own company in the area.

Objectives

Objectives: a) Guide and intervene in the cultural operations of installing and maintaining vineyards; b) Identify crop phytosanitary problems and propose solutions; c) Guide and intervene in the harvest according to the specifications of the vineyard and the characteristics desired for the final product; d) Guide and intervene in all winemaking, treatment and storage operations, in accordance with food safety and quality standards, identifying possible problems throughout the process; e) Implement and intervene in the sensory evaluation of wines; f) Carry out physical-chemical analyzes of grapes, musts and wines and interpret the analytical results, in accordance with applicable legislation; g) Organize, coordinate and carry out guided tours with Portuguese and/or foreign audiences in wine tourism spaces and wine routes; h) Boost the sale of wine and other products.

Admission Requirements

The course allows you to apply for 1st cycles of studies through the Special Access Competition for Higher Professional Technician Diploma Holders.
