i) Promote an ethical-deontological, critical, reflective and transformative stance in monitoring, guiding and acquiring Clinical Supervision and Nursing science skills in practice contexts; ii) Reflect on the structuring concepts of Clinical Supervision and on the contribution of learning theories in andragogy and in the work contexts in Supervision models; iii) Understand the planning practices, strategies and teaching-learning and assessment instruments in clinical supervision that value the pedagogical relationship, promoting the connection between theory and practice in a clinical context; iv) Provide training on communication and personal development, leadership, management and group dynamics, conflict management and error management culture; v) Consolidate skills in the area of research, evidence, management and quality collaborative work in the development of skills in Clinical Supervision; vi) Qualify the nurse for the provisions of Regulation No. 366/2018 of June 14 of the Portuguese Nursing Bord Association and Regulation No. 722/2020 of August 31 - Amendment of Regulation No. 366/2018, of June 14 (Regulation of Differentiated Added Competence and Advanced Clinical Supervision).

Candidates who cumulatively meet the following conditions may apply for enrollment and registration in the course:

a) Hold a degree in Nursing, or legally equivalent qualification, or higher degree;

b) Hold the professional title of nurse.

CPGSCE students will be able to:

i) Develop supervisory skills in a clinical care delivery context;

ii) Recognize the fundamental principles of clinical supervision in nursing;

iii) Integrate the principles, values, duties and main legal standards related to the exercise of nursing supervision;

iv) Develop skills in the area of research, evidence and quality management in improving skills in clinical supervision;

v) Apply teamwork skills in healthcare and collaboration in healthcare.

The PGSCE will provide the necessary skills to:

i) adopt an ethical, critical, reflective and transformative stance when monitoring nursing students and professionals;

ii) effectively intervene in the guidance of nursing students, recent graduates and professionals;

iii) master observation techniques in clinical supervision work in nursing;

iv) apply the evaluation models in clinical nursing supervision.
