The undergraduate program aims to train senior staff to perform technical functions and professionals in the field of Tourism. The curriculum is designed to provide comprehensive training, integrating disciplines in the areas of Tourism, management, Economics, History and Languages. This degree teaches the scientific expertise, technical and personal relationships necessary for understanding the mode of operation and the legal framework for tourism organizational structures and institutions related to this area. Provides acquisition and operationalization of theoretical and practical tools which are supported at the level of advice, planning, strategy, management and marketing of businesses and tourist destinations. Develops leaderships skills, Intercom, team integration and entrepreneurship , to enable full integration of graduates into labour market of even the creation of your business in tourism.

Objectives

The degree aims to develop the scientific, technical and personal relationships necessary for the understanding of the legal framework and organizational structures of tourism and other related to this area. It provides fundamental knowledge in term of advising, planning, strategy, management and marketing of businesses and tourist destinations. Develops leadership skills, Intercom, team integration and entrepreneurship, to enable full integration of graduates into the labour market or even the creation of their businesses. As a multidisciplinary curriculum, its learning objectives, operationalization and measurement of compliance vary with the nature of the theoretical and practical disciplines.

Admission Requirements

Those interested can apply for the course through one of the following national competitions organized by DGES: National Competition for Access and Admission to Public Higher Education; and Special Regimes. Application may also be possible through the following special competitions, organized by the University of the Azores: Special Competitions for Access and Admission to the University of the Azores (Over 23 Years, Holders of Technological Specialization Diploma, Holders of Higher Professional Technician Diploma, Holders of Other Higher Education Courses, Holders of dual certification courses in secondary education and specialized artistic courses); Regimes of Re-entry and Change of Institution / Course; Special competition for access and admission of international students to the University of the Azores. In all cases, the application is dependent on the candidates' compliance with the conditions required for this purpose.
