Objectives
The course has as general objectives to qualify technicians capable of creating, managing, coordinating and/or carrying out maritime activities contributing to the sustainable development of companies and the sustainable exploration of the oceans.
Access Requirements
Those who meet the following conditions may apply to this CTeSP:
a) holders of a high school diploma or legal equivalent and have had approval in Biology;
b) applicants aged over 23 who have approved the special exams for assessing their capability to attend higher education, with written exam in Biology and Geology;
c) holders of a diploma of technological specialization, of CTeSP or a University/Polytechnic degree, with approval in Biology;
d) holders of a high school diploma or legal equivalent, or holders of a diploma of technological specialization, or CTeSP, or a University/Polytechnic degree, whose educational plans do not include Biology, who have approved in a specific exam on Biology
Career Opportunities
The higher professional technician in Maritime Resources and Activities, autonomously or under guidance, integrated in a team, is competent to create, manage, coordinate and / or carry out maritime activities contributing to the sustainable development of companies and the exploration of the oceans.
Learning Outcomes
a) Plan and coordinate maritime-tourist operations in safe conditions;
b) Manage programs of observers and fisheries samplers;
c) Coordinate minimally intrusive programs for the manipulation and marking of marine living beings;
d) Manage processes of handling, conservation, transformation and commercialization of sea products, in a rational and sustainable manner;
e) Develop planned maintenance plans of scientific research instruments;
f) To manage databases of marine environmental information records with the preparation of technical reports and the annual activities of maritime-tourist companies;
g) Create and manage companies in the maritime-tourism sector.
