Objectives

This CU allows an extending knowledge in psychological assessment, previously acquired in the CU of Psychological Assessment I. At the end of this CU, the student should be able to:

1. Frame the relevance of psychological assessment in the development of a psychological intervention plan.

2. Understand the particularity of psychological assessment according to the age of the subjects.

3. Relate theoretical perspectives on intelligence, personality and behavior with methods of assessing them.

4. Develop skills in the application, scoring and interpretation of assessment instruments adapted and validated for the Portuguese population.

5. Recognize the relevance of returning information and preparing psychological reports.

6. Reflect on the current state of psychological assessment: potential, limitations and future developments.

    3.1. Intelligence assessment (e.g., BPRD/BPR, MPCR, Wechsler Intelligence Scales)

    3.2. Personality asessment (e.g., EPQ-R, NEO-PI-R, projective techniques)

    3.3. Social emotional and behavioral assessment (e.g., CBCL, TRF, YSR, PKBS-2)

4. Psychological reports

5. Current status and future directions of psychological assessment.
