Objectives

The Dissertation/internship course of studies aims for students to independently develop academic research work, and the consequent application of the knowledge acquired by the master's student in the course's curricular subjects. Alternatively, this application can be made in the internship modality, in which in the first semester students must complete a 400-hour curricular internship and in the second prepare the respective internship report.

It is intended that master's students develop original research, designed with the chosen supervisor(s), within the scope of social sciences, with particular emphasis on sociology. The Internship implies the existence of an internship supervisor at the host entity and a supervisor at the University, with a view to guiding the internship report and monitoring the internship activities.

The theme can be developed in areas in which master's students have professional experience, taking advantage of the knowledge and skills developed in the Master's degree.

Program

The theme of the Dissertation or internship for each master's student will be chosen in partnership with the master's direction, and, as soon as there is a supervisor(s), the process will be carried out under is guidance, according to the themes and authors considered appropriate in the scope of the Master's degree.
