Objectives

This curricular unit intends to sensitize students to dynamic topics related to the relevance and breadth of
international business and its implications and / or aspects of innovation and technology management and the
respective processes and / or information systems for the management and / or use of information and decision
systems and / or legal framework of the business and / or entrepreneurship and / or other issues of current
relevance relevant to management.
At the end of the curricular unit students should be able to:
1. perceive the implications of management in an international context;
2. understand the process of innovation and its management;
3. recognize the importance of management information systems;
4. formulate and understand problems and support decision;
5. recognize the legal implications of business;
6. be aware of the potential of entrepreneurship in business development;
7. perceive the implications of issues of current relevance to management.

Chapter 1. International Business; and / or
Chapter 2. Management of innovation and technology; and / or
Chapter 3. Information systems for management; and / or
Chapter 4. Systems of decision; and / or
Chapter 5. Legal framework in business; and / or
Chapter 6. Entrepreneurship; and / or
Chapter 7. Current relevance to management

Teaching Methodologies

In each topic, half of the time is allocated to the presentation and discussion of the fundamental concepts, illustrated with current examples of Portuguese and international business reality, with the second half of the time being allocated to the discussion of a case that frames the concepts addressed. Mixed methodologies are applied including teacher exposure and autonomous and collaborative case study resolution. Students are challenged to work out of class at the conclusion of the case studies and in applying the knowledge acquired. The evaluation method consists in the accomplishment of a theoretical written and / or practical test by subject, resulting the final note of the simple average of all the evaluations carried out.
