Objectives

1. Language as a free human activity:
a. Language and linguistic knowledge.
b. The universal, historical and individual levels of language.
2. The production and comprehension of texts in various contexts | in several realms of
human action.
a. The relevance of the discursive | textual categories.
b. The expressions and concepts of discursive | textual universe, genre and
type.
3. Towards a praxis of reading and writing in different genres | contexts | realms of
human action:
a. Reporting, describing, arguing, and explaining as discursive | textual types.
b. Types and genres of discursive | textual activities: case studies.
4. The infographic as a discursive tool.

Teaching Methodologies

Classes will be theoretical-practical in nature: presentation of the key terms an concepts, the analytical devices, and the data required by the various themes and kinds of texts to be covered.
