Objectives

1) Understand the historical evolution and analyze the theoretical framework underlying the relationship between travel, transport and tourism;
2) Analyze the structure, functions, activities, strategies and practices associated with each mode of transport — air, road, rail, sea and river — and recognize their complexity in the tourist distribution system;
3) Discuss the importance of transport planning and management taking into account the competitiveness and sustainability of tourist destinations;
4) Identify smart technologies applied to the transport context and their contribution to sustainable mobility;
5) Develop skills for managing transport operations at local and international level;
6) Reflect on the impacts of travel and tourism and develop a prospective analysis of inclusive, efficient and sustainable mobility.

Teaching Methodologies

Classes will be theoretical-practical in nature and will be based on the presentation of content, the analysis and discussion of texts and case studies and the performance of practical exercises. Opportunities for direct contact with professionals in the field will be provided, promoting presentations by guest speakers in a classroom context. Furthermore, study visits will be organized to contact companies and organizations.
