Objectives

Development of graphical representation skills associated with systems and industrial products. With this course the student will beable to produce and transmit ideas, concepts and carry out small design projects using sketching, CAD and geometric modeling techniques.

Program

CAD 3D Modelling:
- Parametric models
- Entities
- Features
- Geometric relations
- Surfaces
- Assemblies: Visualization, interference detection
- Generation of drawings
Introduction to technical drawing:
- General aspects related with technical drawing
- Multiview Projections
- Section views
- Dimensioning
- Special representation: Threads, fasteners, springs, gears, bearings, etc.
- Introduction to project documentation.

Teaching Methodologies

Pratical work during class (50%) and Final Project (50%). Final project should be a group project. A minimum grade of 10/20 is required for the final project in order to obtain a passing grade. An oral presentation of the final project is required.
