Objectives

- Acquire knowledge about concepts of acute and chronic disease;

- Acquire knowledge about the pathophysiology of diseases;

-Understand the interrelation of the different factors that interfere in the development of pathological processes and in the treatment of the person with the disease;

- Acquire knowledge that allows the identification of phenomena and nursing diagnoses and the formulation of a care plan to meet the needs of the sick person;

- Acquire knowledge for decision-making in nursing action;

I - Nursing for the person in a situation of illness

    - Stages of development of the disease

    - Impact of the disease on the person / family

II - Impaired immune system process

     - Natural immunity - inflammatory response

     - cancer disease

III- Process of the compromised regulatory system

     - Hydroelectrolytic imbalance

     - Acid-base imbalance

     - Shock: cardiogenic, hemorrhagic, anaphylactic and neurogenic

IV - Process of the compromised respiratory system

- Pneumonia / Bronchopneumonia

- Pneumothorax / Hemothorax / Pleural effusion

- Asthma / lung cancer

- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

V - Compromised cardiovascular system process

- Coronary artery disease

- Cardiac insufficiency

- Arterial vascular problems: hypertension; acute and chronic arterial occlusive disease;

- Venous vascular problems: deep venous thrombosis; thrombophlebitis; varicose veins; varicose ulcersConhecimentos de base recomendados

Teaching Methodologies

In order to involve students in the construction of the core contents of the course, the participatory, interrogative and expository method will be used with the aid of audiovisual media. In order to stimulate participation and reflection on the contents taught to the development of skills in the scope of providing nursing care to the person with the various pathologies addressed in the UC, practical cases will be used as a structuring basis for the exhibition sessions.

Guided reading of articles will also be recommended to consolidate the content covered in autonomous time
