1. Practical work: D NA Extraction, evaluation of quality and quantity parameters of the extracted DNA.
2. Practical work: Molecular techniques using polymerase chain reaction (PCR);
3. Practical work: Molecular techniques using restriction enzymes digestion;
4. Practical work: Molecular techniques using real-time PCR;
5. Resolution of exercises: Restriction mapping;
6. Resolution of exercises: Sequencing.

Teaching Methodologies

The theoretical lectures are presented with power po int presentations. Classes PDFs are previously published in the SIDE platform. In the classes, in addition to the exhibition by the professor, the discussion of the various syllabuses is promoted and the students are encouraged to submit their questions. Classroom: Auditório do Edifício das Pedrinhas. The practical classes consist mainly in the application of theoretical concepts by performing experimental protocols. The works are held in groups of 3 to 4 students. Theoretical-practical classes with resolution of Molecular Genetics exercises will also be taught. Classroom: Lab room 2.13 Edifício Geociências, where all the laboratory equipment needed to carry out practical protocols are available. The evaluation of this UC is made exclusively by Exa mination  Mode 3).
