Objectives and Skills to be Developed
1. Understand the aspects of organizations based on the evolution of management thinking and management functions.
2. Demonstrate knowledge about the functional areas and issues that arise in health, both in the management of human resources, and in the management of material resources and equipment, and that allow them to use institutional resources effectively and efficiently.
3. Acquire a systemic and global view of health organizations, as well as the most relevant aspects for their insertion in an organization, after completing the degree in Nursing.
4. Explain the Health / Nursing Services management process, quality improvement processes, as well as interpret relevant information on Health / Nursing management, team management and / or care.
5. Know the characteristics of the health care market, the importance of participating in the definition of policies and the development of a qualified performance of Nursing Care in the context of Health Organizations

Teaching Methods
This curricular unit is developed in theoretical classes, theoretical-practical classes and practical classes. Taking into account the principles of adult education and training and the philosophy underlying the Bologna Process, centered on the student, will be mobilized through theoretical and practical sessions, expository, participatory and active methodologies.
In the first phase the teacher will expose the main ideas and contents of the themes of the programme, in interaction with the students, where the various themes and sub-themes related to the themes of management and leadership in health are explored.
The teacher will make use of various media to communicate, in order to strengthen and make more efficient the acquisition and mobilization of knowledge, namely texts, powerpoint presentations and practical exercises.
