Objectives

Learning Outcomes
Students should be able to:
1) Discuss the central concepts and specific components of nursing documentation in health information.
2) Develop knowledge and skills in the use of taxonomies, in particular ICNP, in the description of nursing practices.
3) Discuss ethical and deontological aspects in the nurse / client relationship.
4) Relate the use of the nursing process with professional nursing action.
5) Demonstrate knowledge, skills and abilities related to nursing interventions in the field of techniques and procedures.

1-The nursing process as a methodology for clinical practice
1.1-From data collection to diagnostic decision-making
1.2-From the prescription of nursing interventions to the evaluation of results
2-Health Assessment and Physical Examination
3-Documentation of nursing care (ICNP)
4-Deontological and Ethical Aspects in the nurse/client relationship
5- Nursing interventions in the field of bodily processes: procedures and techniques
5.1-Processes of the gastrointestinal system (nasogastric intubation)
5.2-Processes of the musculoskeletal system (Positions in bed/chair;Exercise;transfer;Marching)
5.3-Physical response processes: vital signs
5.4-Processes of the regulatory system
6- Nursing interventions of the behavior: procedures and techniques
6.1-Self-care taking care of personal hygiene (bed preparation;bathing;oral hygiene)
7-Nursing interventions in the process of death: procedures and techniques.

Teaching Methodologies

In this course theoretical and practical approaches will be privileged, using participatory and active methodologies in which students can: use databases of scientific information in research oriented with regard to topics and texts relevant to the course; discuss documents related to the contents of the course; perform group work on topics included in the curricular unit program; conducting of simulated practice workshops; viewing movies and other multimedia materials. During the teaching of classes, formative assessment will be promoted, so that the introduction of new content and methodologies, guarantees the prior consolidation of fundamental concepts.
