2. Autotrophic cell, namely the cell wall

3. Photosynthesis, the light dependent reactions, the carbon assimilation pathways, photorespiration, and environmental responses of photossynthesis

4. Respiration

5. Water uptake and transport in the plant

6. Organic compounds transport and source-sink relations

7. Minerals and their assimilation

8. Stress physiology, plant response to stress, water stress, thermal stresses and anaerobic stress.

9. Developmental physiology, developmental stages, hormones and growth regulators.

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical classes are taught in class for all chapters and the students are evaluated by two written exams and one or two short papers.

Laboratory classes for chapters 2, 3, 5 and 7 are evaluated upon the student’s performance in class and written reports.
