Objectives

Students should be able to:

1) Describe the basic concepts of PBE and the necessary steps for its development;

2) Develop a focused and researchable clinical question based on an emerging problem in practice;

3) Define a strategy to carry out an effective literature review, using primary and / or secondary sources;

4) Critically evaluate nursing research and other knowledge disciplines;

5) Synthesize the relevant results according to their applicability to the context of clinical practice.

Teaching Methodologies

In addition to the theoretical hours that allow framing and exploring the fundamental concepts that relate to the development and promotion of an evidence-based nursing practice, theoretical-practical and practical approaches using methodologies will be privileged participatory and active in which students can: i) identify problems emerging from the clinic; ii) experiment with formulating searchable clinical questions; iii) defining research strategies in databases relevant to the nursing profession and discipline; iv) discuss the quality and applicability of the results that are capable of synthesizing.
