1. The Portuguese language in the world:
1.1. Where is the Portuguese language spoken nowadays?
1.2. What kind of Portuguese language is still sopken in such places?
1.3. Why does the Portuguese language assume such form and features in those places?
2. Mapping the dialects of the european Portuguese: the dialectal and subdialectal areas — their frontiers and specific traits.
3. On the oldest written documents in Portuguese: tentative description of the old Portuguese.
Classes will be theoretical-practical in nature: presentation of the key terms and concepts, the analytical devices, and the data required by the various themes to be covered.
