Objectives

The seminar subject aims to provide students with the knowledge necessary to develop a research work as well as the presentation of this work either as report / thesis, whether as a form of scientific paper. Thus, during the lessons of this subject students may understand and perform the tasks necessary to successfully carry out a research work. In this context the subject focuses on communication, awareness of the problems and should be able to integrate all knowledge acquired in other disciplines. In addition, this course aims to guide the postgraduate students to prepare their dissertations / thesis, using the seminar as a tool to assist the development of projects, stimulating debate and the exchange of experiences between students and the subject teacher. In some situations, students, often appeal to the teachers they choose as promoter.

Teaching Methodologies

The Research Seminar discipline works with a workload 27 hours. The operation of the Seminar is provided during the semester, developing different activities, privileging the techniques used for the planning of a scientific work, as well as their presentation either orally as well as a form of work to be submitted to a journal for publication. The final work is always carried out in the form of individual work, and the orientation of the entire development process of each student's work is accompanied by the promotor chosen by the student. At the end of the subject, students deliver two copies of the work on paper (bound) and a copy in electronic form, which is presented orally for a period of 15 minutes, subsequently discussed with the subject teacher and colleagues.
