Objectives

It is not a purpose of this very special unit to form divers but instead to give the students information that would eventualy let them acquire the proper enthousiasm and skils required for this activity. It is also important that a given student in this course, even if he/she does not even swim, must known what diving is and implies and is perfectly able to known the materials, dangers and every aspect mentioned in the syllabus bellow.

In this unit we transmit generalist information that would eventually be deepened in those students that will decide to undergo proper diving training.

Teaching Methodologies

1. Power point prewsentations of all theoretical items referred in the syllabus

2. Demonstration of use and functioning of diving equipment

3. Practical sessions of aquacity and adaptation to diving gear according to former training (or absence of it) of each student) - after filling an individual enquiry.

4. Free diving/snorkeling sessions

5. Scuba diving baptisms

6. Scuba diving

NOTE: Points 4, 5 and 6 do vary according to each student and depend of their own individual capabilities
