Program

The Social Psychology Laboratory is a course primarily designed for the practical integration and articulation of knowledge in the social psychology domain. It is intended that students mobilize acquired knowledge on theory and methods in the field to study specific interpersonal situations as well as relationships individuals establish and maintain with their physical and social context. Concepts and theories of social psychology (eg Theory of Social Identity, Identity with Place, Social Comparison or Self Efficacy) are summoned to the understanding of particular situations.

Teaching Methodologies

The methodology used in this course has a strong practical component, with classes mainly focusing on the monitoring of the work students carry out, individually and in groups, throughout the semester. However, given the theoretical and methodological issues transversal to the different tasks students should carry out throughout the study, part of the course is also used to address and discuss theoretical content with the class.

In addition to the work done in class, students develop bibliographic research and data collection activities outside the class in order to apply and test the methods selected for the study.
