Objectives

Students should acquire / develop various generic skills, including:

1. Capacity for analysis and synthesis;

2. Ability to deal with complex information;

3. Concerns of quality and rigor;

4. Quality of written and oral expression;

5. Familiarity with the new technologies of information and communication;

6. Opening interdisciplinary;

7. Sense of initiative.

Learning should also help as to bring specific skills:

1. Comprehensive knowledge of Rural History, is a factual level, is in the understanding;

2. Perception of the social utility of knowledge of the rural past;

3. Scientific and technical skills within the exploration of the sources of rural history;

4. Ability to think autonomously on the subjects studied.

5. Ability to promote reflection of rural issues and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge concerning the history of agriculture and rural life.

1. Rural history, sources and methods

2. Major steps of land occupation and evolution of forms of domination and exploitation in agriculture

3. The technological development as a factor in agricultural progress

4. History of plants and introduction of new cultures

5. Stockbreeding

6. Agrarian landscapes and rural settlement

7. Farm chores and daily life of peasants

8. Marketing of products of land

Teaching Methodologies

The expositive method is accompanied by interactive method, in order to ensure a participated and critical learning. The theoretical lessons will articulate with the reading program the students and with the approach of informational materials of different nature, with a view to addressing the multifaceted problems of agriculture and the rural world.

This approach will take place in work under practical theoretical classes, and also a practical work on a topic specified by the teacher.
