Objectives

The contents will be developed in three blocks:
I - Fundamentals of PAS. Policy analysis, international guidelines and recommendations, national and regional about education and PAS.
II - Assessment of essential resources to educational animation in PAS. The case of the Azores. Characterization of the population (children and youth) and evaluation of existing resources (artificial and nature spaces, equipment and materials). Critical appreciation of pograms of PAS 's in the Azores. The professional educational animation of PAS - Profile and training priorities.
III - Preparation of intervention methodologies – research, prescription, monitoring and evaluation activities in a variety of educational ─ among others, indoor and outdoor activities; in thematic parties; in the holiday occupation and leisure; in educational institutions, sports associations and sports disability. Analysis and reflection about methods and techniques of animations.

Program

Teaching Methodologies

This course includes informational and practical sessions, based on the analysis and discussion of legislation, scientific articles and films, observation, research, analysis and implementation of practices, as well as the development of topic s, by the students.
Research work will be of high importance and, whenever possible, cooperation and exchange of knowledge between students will be promoted.

The moments of assessment of knowledge in this discipline are:

• Work carried out over the practical sessions (50% NF)
• Field work to be present in a seminar (50% NF)
