Objectives

The major goals of this course are students transmission of theoretical bases on archeology as a hu-man science whose object of study are past societies through material remains subsisting, supported by field methods, laboratory and comparative, and comprehensive information about the archaeological contexts related to the different stages of the historical process. Are complementary goals of this course contribute to develop the students skills and abilities that translate the understanding of the historical process, the interdisciplinary broadening horizons in the field of materials and techniques used for knowledge of the past, valuation, protection, study and dissemination of cultural heritage, and also a good organization, clarity and fluency in oral and written expression.

Teaching Methodologies

The teaching methodologies of the course of Archaeology are based on a combination of the roles of teacher and student. Corresponds to the role of the teacher performing a set of lectures (modules I and II of the program), supported by timely discussion and review of literature complement previously distributed, as well as the setting, monitoring and review of thematic work (module III of the program). Corresponds to the role of monitoring the students lectures, reading the texts of primary and supplementary bibliography and performing all tasks underlying thematic work.
