It is intended that students acquire a general knowledge of materials, components and construction techniques, and various constructive solutions of animal facilities. For each specie is discussed the biological characteristics; the type of housing; equipment; complementary facilities; environmental issues; management of wastes, techniques and equipment for processing.
The grass silage in silos are studied allowing the student to correctly dimension a silo according to the most usual constructive solutions, the nutritional quality requirements of forage, operational and management of those facilities.
As a practical component and complementary activity, students develop a project in Autocad, for which is given the basic knowledge and practice, which is complementary to the theoretical aspects, consisting in development an original architectural survey in order to develop practice in housing planning of animal facilities.

The education is provided through theoretical and practical lessons that include exposition and discussion of program content and the resolution of practical examples. Emphasis is given to student participation based on their experience and the integration of theoretical knowledge for their use in various conditions of practical application.
