The curricular unit aims to provide a basic understanding of the integration process, the historical and political context that led the major European States to engage in a process of approximation of their destinations. It is important that students acquire a sound knowledge of the conditions that led to the political and economic integration process among the European States. The curricular unit of Community Law is the proper framework for curriculum students to learn about the institutional framework of the European Union, to study its structure and operating rules, to understand the kind of legal relationship that is established between the Union and the Member States and how these processes establish the delimitation of spheres of action of each of them. It is also important to understand the entire legislative process as well as the judicial system of the European Union.
1. Introduction The genesis of the communities / European Union, from the Treaty of Paris to the Treaty of Lisbon.
2. Institutional law. The institutional system of the European Union.
3. The Community legal order. Originating and Derivative Community Law. Community legal instruments.
4. Cooperation between the community and the authorities of the Member States in the application of Community law. Control of the legality of the activities of the Community institutions. Control of compliance by Member States with Community law. Community liability.
5. Bodies and instruments for the consolidation of the area of freedom, security and justice.
This course develops a weekly split in a classroom lecture and practice, and the latter provides the follow-up / sedimentation of the matters discussed above. To mention also the fact that it is available to all students, at their discretion, a 1 hour weekly schedule to clarify any questions or concerns related to the discipline.
