Objectives

In the degree in Nature Guides, the presence of Anthropology, nourished by ecological thinking seeks to contribute to the deepening of interdisciplinary and emphasize the importance of scientific knowledge of the island and archipelagic cultures in the context of Portuguese cultural areas, and propose new challenges ace dynamics asset management, enhancing intercultural dialogue and community development.

It is intended to awaken and develop the skills of students, enabling them to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Anthropology, also the necessary tools for creating heritage resources based on a critical, comparative and holistic view.

Teaching Methodologies

Theoretical and practical interrelating theoretical presentations, presentation and discussion of representations of the student’s cultural realities. Continuous monitoring of the student’s work. All theoretical tools are applied to the knowledge of concrete situations, privileging the Azorean culture.
