2. Some translation problems (and their respective solutions).
3. Different types of documents: administrative, law, business, sacientific, adverstising, informative documents.
Translating science and law. Literary and non-literary texts.
4. Synonym and functional equivalence.
Classes will combine theory with practice. Students will be given a selected body of even shorter texts than the ones they worked with in the 1st semester, with a varied degree of difficulty and purposes. In addition to this, each student will choose his/her own more lengthy translation project, to be carried out outside classes. At the end of the semester, students will also present a report on the challenges and solutions they have encountered and adopted, respectively. Assessment will be continuous, but the final project will rank highest in the final grade (60%).
