Based on the principles of adult education and training and on the philosophy that underlies the Bologna Process, the methodology used will imply the responsibility of the student and his/her active participation throughout this stage of training process. Students will be consulted about the contents, the teaching and assessment methodologies, so that those expressed in this program may change. However, the use of expository and demonstrative methods of problem solving is expected, using case studies, group work, among others, based on a guided study. Dialogue, the presentation of opinions, self-reflection and critical analysis related to the defined intervention focuses will be stimulated, in order to stimulate critical thinking and contribute to the development of the identified skills.
The first teaching sessions, of a conceptual nature, are of an expository and exploratory nature of the themes. Clinical skills will be promoted, namely through group work and practical classes, in which emphasis will be given to some therapeutic intervention strategies.
It is intended to promote student awareness for the promotion of mental health, prevention and treatment of mental and psychosocial disorders, which acquires a demystified image of the person with mental and / or behavioral disorders and who understands the importance of their attitudes as a therapeutic tool. The different situations will be approached in a comprehensive and personalized perspective, taking into account the multi-causality, the different hypotheses of approach, the complementarity, the possibility of reintegration into the family and society and the role of social support networks.
Learning activities using testimonies (physical presence, films, among others), articles, studies, among others, will be used for analysis / discussion, made available on paper, computer, bibliography, database, among others. These will be complemented by a study oriented towards non-classroom activities carried out during the autonomous study period.
