The Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Consultancy in Portuguese offers a two-fold training in the area of linguistic consultancy and translation. Its theoretical and practical nature allows students to deepen their knowledge and to improve their skills in editing and proofreading texts in Portuguese and in translation practice (students may choose to enter the English or French profile).

Objectives

Consolidate knowledge in the field of native and foreign languages; Develop skills in literary, technical, scientific and pragmatic translation; Expand knowledge about core aspects of contemporary culture; Know the concepts, methods as well as the basic tools required for the activity of language consulting; Develop personal research and research methods.

Admission Requirements

1 - The following may apply for the course: a) Holders of a bachelor's degree, or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, awarded as a result of a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, recognized as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor's degree by the UAc Scientific Council; d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the UAc's scientific council as attesting the capacity to carry out postgraduate studies; 2 - Candidates must also have a good command of all the working languages, verified by means of a previous assessment test, with the possibility of dismissing this test through curriculum analysis.
