Presentation

The Master on Zootechnical Engineering aims to provide a thorough technical and scientific training in animal husbandry to all who choose a teaching, research or technical career in this area, providing theoretical information, use of analysis tools and practical intervention capacity, for an immediate professional practice and capacity of permanent updating in the face of new scientific and technological advances. Thus, it is intended that the graduate student acquire experimental procedure habits, project capacity and, ultimately, develop a critical attitude towards the problems, allowing him to define with clarity the paths that lead to the best solutions in the area of animal production.

Objectives

The skills that students should develop are defined and are consistent with the objectives of the course, in which some subject matter is highly motivating both from the point of view of their practical applicability, and from the point of view of further research. In addition, teaching methods are adapted to teaching objectives facilitating student participation in research. The average of the study time corresponds to the estimated ECTS. The evaluation of students is made according to the objectives of each subject, with coordination between units, content and objectives, known by the students and teachers. At the end of this course, the graduate in Zootechnical Engineering should be able to carry out individual projects, work in teams, produce reports, make presentations, communicate effectively, process data and produce information and invest in personal training. Sometimes teachers challenge students to work with concrete situations of companies to which give support, in situations requested to the university. Thus, the Master of Zootechnical Engineering should be able to ensure quality and competence, concurrent engineering acts, and be multifaceted, displaying updated knowledge in various fields, mainly in the area of livestock production.
