The undergraduate course in management aims providing management training, a generalist perspective, with the possibility of specialization in a functional area of management later in the Masters. The course is designed to provide comprehensive training, which results from the integration of basic disciplines in the areas of Management, Economics, Accounting, Quantitative Methods and Law, with the possibility of frequency options on Information Systems, International Business and Innovation. Teaching methods include seeking an eminently practical aspect that is achieved through case studies and the development of project applied to local or national realities.

Objectives

A degree in Management aims to give students skills, knowledge and skills to perform technical activities in various areas of management activity as well as leadership in public and private organizations in a local, regional, national and international context. Thus, the goals of undergraduate program in Management are: a) Transmit the technical and scientific knowledge necessary for a satisfactory performance un public and private organizations; b) Enable students to the field of theoretical resources, methodologies, instruments, tools and techniques for the performance and career advancement; c) Development attitudes of flexibility and adaptation in organizational menders; d) Encourage an entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic; e) Develop the ability to search and build autonomously; f) Process analysis, research and reflection problems complex and multifaceted; g) Solutions business environment for the challenges of management; h) Strategic plans of medium and long term in several areas; i) Resolutions.

Admission Requirements

Those interested can apply for the course through one of the following national competitions organized by DGES: National Competition for Access and Admission to Public Higher Education; and Special Regimes. Application may also be possible through the following special competitions, organized by the University of the Azores: Special Competitions for Access and Admission to the University of the Azores (Over 23 Years, Holders of Technological Specialization Diploma, Holders of Higher Professional Technician Diploma, Holders of Other Higher Education Courses, Holders of dual certification courses in secondary education and specialized artistic courses); Regimes of Re-entry and Change of Institution / Course; Special competition for access and admission of international students to the University of the Azores. In all cases, the application is dependent on the candidates' compliance with the conditions required for this purpose.
