This Master’s Degree program was structured to promote solid scientific training and skills development, necessary for the professional training of managers and entrepreneurs. This program supports cross-cutting content in management, which enables career advancement. The first year includes 15 curricular units, divided into three trimesters, totalizing 60 ECTS. The second year comprises the elaboration of research work, which consists of a dissertation, project work, or internship report, corresponding to 60 ECTS.

Objectives

The main goals of the Master in Business Administration (MBA) are to provide cross-cutting training in the field of management through the use of different techniques and main management tools to leverage decision-making and leadership capabilities. In this sense, it allows professionals to make effective decisions in different management contexts and positions; encourages the use of management methods and techniques, using knowledge in an integrated way in the analysis and resolution of business problems; and develops leadership, decision-making, innovation, and oral and written communication skills necessary for understanding and assessing complex situations.

Admission Requirements

Can apply to the master program: a) Holders of an undergraduate degree or legal equivalent; b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree or legal equivalent, conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to the Process; c) Holders of a higher academic degree, recognized as satisfying the objectives of the degree "Licenciatura" by the Scientific Council of the University of the Azores; d) Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum, recognized by the Scientific Council of the University of the Azores as attesting the ability to pursue a master's degree program.

Management: General Manager, Management Advisor, Management Advisor of any functional area or division, Management Consultant; Marketing: Marketing Director or Consultant, Brand Manager, Product Manager, and Social Media Manager; Finance: Financial Director, assistant to the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Project Analyst; Human Resources: Director, Assistant Director or Human Resources Consultant.
