The overall objective of the course is to provide specialized academic training in the field of heritage and museology, enabling students to professional activities in the field of research, planning, management and communication sheet. The organization of the course focuses on the acquisition of scientific and technical expertise in Cultural Heritage, consistent with the desired profile at Masters: learn about the history and heritage and museum theory and develop the ability to reflect the socio-cultural reality, to draw justify projects and assets; using techniques in the management and dissemination of cultural heritage to boost citizens' participation in the equity initiatives. This profile allows qualifying professional training geared towards management and mediation of heritage in public institutions and private companies. The multidisciplinary nature and depth of the syllabus, the privileged link to the realities island and archipelagic and monitoring of students have boosted the suitability of the course objectives, and which have been completed in different professional contexts.
Those who meet the following conditions may apply to the cycle of studies that leads to the mestre degree: a) Holders of the licenciado (bachelor) degree or legal equivalent; b) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the Scientific Council as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies.
