The Cycle of Studies (CS) is based on a quality training offer, oriented towards the development of professional and research skills in the area of Clinical and Health Psychology. General objectives: - Deepening of relevant conceptual approaches in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology; - Problematization of the implications of the insular context in Health; - Training of assessment and diagnosis skills in Clinical Psychology and Health Psychology; - Development of planning skills and psychological intervention with individuals, groups and in different contexts, based on the state of the art; - Deepening of research skills in Psychology, including science communication skills; - Training of autonomous and teamwork skills; - Promotion of an ethical, critical, and reflective attitude towards the reality of research and intervention in Clinical and Health Psychology.

Objectives

The learning outcomes of this SC are: - To deepen theoretical knowledge related to the assessment and intervention in Clinical and Health Psychology (CHP); - To communicate knowledge about emerging areas of investigation and intervention in CHP; - To demonstrate practical skills in assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and intervention planning in CHP, in the classroom and in community institutions (Curricular Internship); - To deepen knowledge in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, applying them to the area of CHP; - To develop research projects in CHP, integrating into research teams; - To consolidate personal and professional skills that support an action based on empirical knowledge, with a critical and ethically sustained spirit.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the application for the Master in Psychology fulfills the requirements of DL 65/2018, of 16 August, assuming that candidates hold a Degree in Psychology (1st Cycle – 180 ECTS), obtained at a Portuguese higher education institution or (in this case, if the academic degree has not been awarded by an HEI in a State adhering to the Bologna Process, it is necessary that the degree be recognized, for the purpose of further studies, as satisfying the objectives of the degree by the Council of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of the Azores). Candidates are ranked according to the following criteria: a) Final degree classification (60%); b) Scientific curriculum, in particular the experience of research and scientific production (20%); c) Training curriculum (20%)
